A dated and not too realistic movie about German Generals during WW II. A good fact and fiction plot about an overdrawn nut of a General that kills prostitutes, and the work that goes on for years to discover the perpetrator of his crimes. Plot ultimately leads to insight into the German officers conspiracy to assassinate Hitler.See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/20_July_plot.
Movie also depicts post war neo-Nazi attitude of German military.
Acting and direction circa 1967 . . . so don't expect too much. For example, all the actors speak with British accents. In addition, encounters between men and women seem to be controlled by 1934 Hollywood standard of decency.
