The first three-quarters of this move is exciting , thrilling, suspenseful and very watchable. Unfortunately the last third doesn't make any sense.
When we first meet New York hedge-fund magnate Robert Miller (Richard Gere) on the eve of his 60th birthday, he appears the very portrait of success in American business and family life. But behind the gilded walls of his mansion, Miller is in over his head, desperately trying to complete the sale of his trading empire, that's worth $200M, to a major bank for $400M by "cooking" the books.
At the same time he is balancing an wild affair with a younger French art-dealer Julie Cote. After an unfortunate accident he gets involved with the police who act stupidly because they don't like rich guys. Movie ends with total lackof audience understanding of arithmetic of the fraud and his future relationship with his family. Last part of movie needed a total rewrite.
