Subtitles Necessary: In SpanishA weak movie with all sorts of holes in the plot that a good film editor could probably fix.The film takes place in Spain soon after the Franco era, when bad people, who were working for Franco, could now have legitimate jobs as cops.
In this film we are faced with a series of brutal murders of adolescent girls in a remote town in southern Spain, (The Marshland). It bring together two homicide detectives to investigate the case. (One of the detectives worked as a hit man for Franco).
In the end they successfully hunt down the killer. We never discover the motive for the killings, who the killer is and how the people in the community connect to one another.
I streamed the film from Netflix because it got excellent reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.That will teach me!!
