Winner of the 1995 Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Different from most films. Does not fit into any category such as action-adventure, drama , etc. It is a relatively slow moving story about many types of people in a small town who live their lives with births, deaths, tragedies, joys, simple pleasures and enduring love for one another. Gets down to the fundamentals of families that live lives without being obsessed with material possessions.
