Foreign; Chinese, subtitlesWonderful sensitive movie about Chinese children in a culture that is attempting to upgrade a 1600's rural education system to meet present day standards.
In this film a teacher has to leave town for a month and a young 13-year old girl is pressed into service as his substitute. If she keeps her class intact, she will receive a bonus. But when a student leaves for the city, she follows and strives relentlessly to bring him back.
Reminds me so much of the China I visited 3 years ago.
