This Iranian movie was directed by Tahmineh Milan, who has been recently hailed as one of the last remaining independent movie directors in Iran. She directs films and takes heat from the Mullahs.
This movie deals with the consequences of women being second rate citizens in the Iranian world. (Let's not forget, most women in religious fundamentalist communities are abused by current day western standards. This is not only an Iranian problem!!).
The lead actress , who is severely depressed, comes off a somewhat naive also. The movie tries to attribute her naivety to being brought up as a girl in a provincial area on Iran. Much too simplistic. The the acting is well below average, story . . . weak, cinematography . . . poor, music . . . bad. Conclusion: This movie was made by amatures.
