Foreign LanguageVery special movie about the French singer, Edith Piaf. Very difficult childhood with probably some mental illness to boot. Boxing fans will remember that she had an affair with Marcel Cerdan, who was a middle weight who fought Jake LaMotta in the "Raging Bull".
Movie will surely be nominated for Best Foreign Language Picture. Wonderful acting by Marion Cotillard who will also be nominated for an Oscar. This is one of the few times, while watching a foreign film, that I could not get the full emotional essence of the film because I am not fluent in French. THIS MOVIE IS A MUST SEE FOR WOMEN .
Did not get an A because the ending is know by anyone who is familiar with the life of Edith Piaf and, therefore, the tension associated with a great movie was missing .
