A remake of Charles Bronson's vigilante movie. Only this time we have a sensitive women, soft spoken literature major and talk radio hostess, (Jodie Foster) as the vigilante. (I'll bet she went to Barnard). I liked Bronson's stuff . . . because the bad guys got their just rewards . . . and I like this one also because some nasty Hispanics and black predators . . . that hang out in the New York streets, subways and projects, got what they deserved. I guess mugging has increased because it doesn't pay to be a second story man anymore with inexpensive Chinese imports on the market. You can't get much for a hot TV these days.
Movie can't be considered racist because the major cop figure . . . a real sweetheart . . . is black. The equation balances. Like algebra. Whatever you do to one side you have to do to the other.
