Human Centipede (2009) FF

Once in every generation a movie is produced that is far and beyond all other productions of the era. The HUMAN CENTIPEDE is one of them. It's in the same category as Alien, Citizen Cane, Forrest Gump and Raging Bull . . . except this is a cult film.

A cult film lives in world of subversive images, ideas, and phrases that we continue to obsess over and dissect at parties, around water coolers and in bars. Many cult films die an early death at the box office, some of them horribly. Mangled and despised, in time they are resurrected and become culturally mainstream.

I watched the downloaded NETFLIX version of film on my computer using the fast forward button to get the highlights of the movie. It targets the 11 to 22 year old male audience. The audience that Hollywood loves. All the comic book movies shoot for this target.

The HUMAN CENTIPEDE is repulsive, revolting, idiotic, nauseating, distasteful, utterly disgusting but some will find it compelling. The "story" line? Two girls find themselves trapped in a nightmare. Dr. Josef Heiter (Dieter Laser) kidnaps them for his demented experiment to create a human "centipede." The plan includes removing their kneecaps so they must walk on all fours, then surgically connecting them to a Japanese man to create a bizarre human chain.

Started watching movies at about eight years old and was strongly influenced by "Fantasia" for it's combination of music and fantasy. He was profoundly impacted in his early teen years by the social content in "I AM A FUGITIVE FROM A CHAIN GANG".

As a kid he used to enter the movie house in the middle of a double feature and leave when the movie reached the part where he came in. Loved serials and was able to see most double features for ten or twenty-five cents.

A graduate of Columbia University and City College of New York (CCNY), he strongly believes that good movies . . . with mature content . . . are a significant supplement to education and insight into the world around us. No egghead, he also believes that "It's A Wonderful Life", "Young Frankenstein", "The Producers", West Side Story", and "Seven Brides For Seven Brothers" are great films.
