This low budget film has done exceptionally well at the box office. It's a touching story about Michael Oher, a homeless African-American youngster from a broken home who is taken in by a well-to-do white family who help him fulfill his potential. As a football player and student, and with the help of his coaches, adopted family and hard work, Oher becomes an All-American offensive left tackle. He now plays for the Baltimore Ravens in the NFL.
This is one of the first movies I have seen that shows rich, southern, christian whites with compassion for other human beings. Very refreshing . . . and true.
