Movie Review : MANCHESTER BY THE SEA (2016) D

I was ready to walk out of this movie many times but I foolishly thought it would get better.

This movie is made up of totally depressed people.  Some are alcoholics also.

If there was a plot at all it was about a terrible tragedy that occurred in a working class . . . beer guzzling family, from the Boston area.  All are devastated and depressed and no one has the brains or understanding that professional psychotherapy help is an absolute necessity.
So we wander through this painful movie hoping against hope that help will be asked by the people involved.   It never comes. They never seek it.

From Rotten Tomatoes:  After the death of his older brother Joe (Kyle Chandler), Lee Chandler (Casey Affleck) is shocked to learn that Joe has made him sole guardian of his nephew Patrick (Lucas Hedges). Taking leave of his job, Lee reluctantly returns to Manchester-by-the-Sea to care for Patrick, a spirited 16-year-old, and is forced to deal with a past that separated him from his wife Randi (Michelle Williams) and the community where he was born and raised. Bonded by the man who held their family together, Lee and Patrick struggle to adjust to a world without him.
