Movie Review: MOONLIGHT (2016) A

Inline image 1This movie won the Academy Award.  It was not a fun experience.  Could not watch it without subtitles.   It's about a portion of the "black" world that no one (especially middle class white people) ever sees or understands unless they are in the field of  social work or in a police position.  Very dark view of communication between people and the drug culture. From this standpoint, it was educational to me.

To others (and to the people who voted for it in the academy) it was a tender, heartbreaking story of a young man's struggle to find himself, told across three defining chapters in his life as he experiences the ecstasy, pain, and beauty of falling in love, while grappling with his own sexuality.
