You asked me what I thought of Closer. Here goes.
My best guess is that this is movie a sales piece for Natalie Portman. Someone owns a piece of her and need a vehicle to show to other producers.
A bunch of adults acting like adolescents in love. . .which is possible, but of no real interest to me. A lot of trivial shock sex words to scare the 55 and older crowd, in the hope of creating attention. (Like someone using inappropriate vulgarities.)
Julia Roberts acting the part of an upscale mature, immature women.
Another possibility is that the writer just read NO EXIT, and didn't realize he/she was putting together the same plot.
