This movie takes place in South Africa before the 1990's liberalization movement that freed Mandella. Its about the apartheid-era South African government that brutalizes a honest man and his wife. Changed by his experience, the man casts his lot with the outlawed African National Congress (ANC) and volunteers to be a terrorist against his ex-employer. (Remember the Irgun?)

The story is universal and is a major part of political history, Iranian dissidents, vs the Mullahs, the Mullahs vs the Shah, American Revolutionaries vs King George, Taliban vs. the Russians, Jews vs Romans . . . ad infinitum.
