LONGFORD (2006) F-

Seeing this movie was a horrible experience. To start with, the audio was horrendous. Garbled English and mumbling. Terrible production. It was rated 4 1/2 stars (out of 5) by Netflix viewers. I must live in a universe parallel to the other people rating this movie.

This so-called film is based on true events about an imbecilic Lord Longford, who finds Catholicism in his later years, and has nothing better to do than take up the controversial pursuit of rehabilitating a convicted sadistic murderer, Myra Hindley. This action drew outrage from the British public. But he gets his kicks because he finds a meaningful relationship with the convicted nut-job. This made-for-TV movie received four Emmy awards. So much said for the Emmy's.

This film may have been underwritten by the church and other believers who think that two people live in one body. The person who kills for fun and thrills (such as Myra Hindly) and the person who god loves, and forgives for all transgressions. This aspect of the film's message REALLY made me angry. My view is that you, yourself are responsible for what you do and there is NO ONE TO FORGIVE YOU.
