French; subtitles A corny movie that is pleasant and light. The plot could just have well come from the libretto of and opera or a silent film. Well acted and the scenery of the french countryside is also pleasant. Acting was good even though average folks will be using subtitles.
The story is about family conflicts and very naive girls that fall for "cads" resulting in very angry fathers. Takes place in a fictional world that appears to be pre-WWI but sometimes appears to be post-WWII. Doesn't matter anyway.
