A lot of good work was put into filming this piece. However, the film was a major disappointment primarily because, the producers and directors forgot to include a meaningful STORY in the narrative of the movie. Maybe it was just produced as a showcase for the excellent acting and cinematography.
With some improvements it could have been a wonderful documentary about a community of very poor (and almost primitive) people who live on the small islands in the Mississippi Delta.
The movie primarily deals with, a six-year-old girl who is on the brink of becoming and orphan.
The movie wanders into her childish fantasies and extraordinary imagination but this wasn't enough to made the day. Because it was repetitive and boring, I was very close to quiting half way through. This is a movie you may walk out on.
