A lot of people think this movie is about zombies invading the earth. No! Its about a dreadful disease that Louis Pasture found a cure for in the 1800's. Rabies. Or at least a form of rabies that people are spreading to each other.
But that is besides the point. The movie is the classic Hollywood spectacular about some alien or disease (a pandemic) overwhelming the world. It's exciting and works . . . if you are into this sort of stuff.
Great special effects. Of course has the usually hero (Brad Pitt in this case) who is emotionally connected to his family and has to go out and find the cure. The cure is a little far fetched. But who cares about that anyway because his family is safe.
