TV Series Review: BOSS (2012) C-

Another TV series that never goes anywhere.  The Boss . . . I assume built on a caricature of Mayor Richard Daley of Chicago falls on it's face.  Ran two seasons. Describes a ruthless Mayor who will go to all lengths (including murder) to retain power . . . even after he knows he is dying of an untreatable illness.  Acting not bad but storyline is unrealistic, repetitive and boring.

From Rotten Tomatoes:
A fictitious study of the personal and professional life of ruthless Chicago mayor Tom Kane (Kelsey Grammer). The second campaign eventually leads to political problems that include a personal tragedy, an infatuation with new aide Mona Fredricks , his deep-sixing of longtime political cronies, troubles with a city housing project, an uneasy alliance with a City Council foe, the potential bankruptcy of the city of Chicago and a published news story that could spell the end of his reign as a powerful politico. All this while his health continues to deteriorate.
