Foreign Movie Review; KAWASAKI'S ROSE (2009) C-

Czech; subtitles

A very unclear and mixed up movie about the years before and the years after the Czech Republic became free from Russian domination.  If you not familiar with that period of history, you will not be able to understand what is going on.  And even if you are aware of the history, the movie is difficult to follow and has many loose ends.  Don't waste your time with this one.

From Rotten Tomatoes: On the brink of being honored for his achievements, noted Czech scientist Pavel Josek (Martin Huba) is forced to deal with a fateful decision he made some 30 years earlier, when he cooperated with the secret police as an informer and sold out a former friend (Antonin Kratochvil). But Pavel's tangled ties to the man -- who was ultimately forced to emigrate to Sweden -- run deeper than he's willing to admit.
