This a a chick flick wrapped around the story of the renowned and nerdy astrophysicist Stephen Hawking, who received an earth-shattering diagnosis of ALS, or Lou Gehrig's Disease, at 21 years of age. At present he is almost entirely paralysed and communicates through a speech generating device.
Before the disease takes hold he and a another Cambridge student fall in love and are married . . . even though they both know that the relationship will be difficult . . . to say the least.
The movie is slow moving , predicable and sets up obvious relationship problems that finally cause the couple to divorce.
