BRITISH TV SERIES: BROADCHURCH Season 1 (2013) C-

Subtitles must be used
An overly long and sometimes tedious series (8 episodes) about a killing in a small English town. It grinds on until the unlikely murderer is revealed in the last episode.  Very similar to a Perry Mason TV show of yesteryear when all is revealed at the end.
Plotline: A seemingly calm and friendly seaside town becomes a town wrapped in secrets when the death of an eleven year old boy sparks an unwanted media frenzy. As the town's locals start to open up about what they do and don't know, it falls upon the police to catch the supposed killer.
Not worth you time or energy
From another reviewer   . . . there's something fundamentally unsatisfying about the whole thing, as smart and intricately structured as it is — and it has nothing whatsoever to do with any writing or acting or filmmaking issues, and everything to do with the fact that we've just been to this particular narrative well too many times . . .
