FROZEN RIVER (2008) AA

THIS IS NOT A FUN MOVIE!!!

It's about the poor and left behind people in our twenty-first century economy. We see them living in broken houses , trailers and in the backwoods of America. They are also the immigrants. (Did you ever think about how you grandparents lived when they came from other countries without a penny)? When we pay any attention to them, society usually condemns them because they are uneducated, hicks, or rednecks.

This movie lets you see another part of their lives. Their struggles, pain and sadness.

Acting A+++, Direction A+. Story. . . difficult to watch at times. Teen aged boy is wonderful.

From Yahoo: Ray Eddy, an upstate New York trailer mom, is lured into the world of illegal immigrant smuggling when she meets a Mohawk girl who lives on a reservation that straddles the US-Canadian border. Broke after her husband takes off with the down payment for their new doublewide, Ray reluctantly teams up with Lila, a smuggler, and the two begin making runs across the frozen St. Lawrence River carrying illegal Chinese and Pakistani immigrants in the trunk of Ray's Dodge Spirit.
