AN EDUCATION (2009) B-

An interesting and passable English movie about a 16 year old girl leaving the path she is on to a higher education at Oxford for a more worldly education with a charismatic older man.

Couple of problems. 
 • The Kings English was not spoken, which resulted in most of the audience missing at least half of the conversations. (Need subtitles). 
• Certain characters and situations were obviously contrived so that the narrative would fall into place. Unfortunately, they appeared forced and unreal. This included a dopey, domineering and weak willed father who gets soft at the end of the picture, 
• The need to make the lessons being taught to the students very boring and also a bunch of stereotypically old maid teachers at the school.
