Academy Award materialThis is a very special movie. This film is to Afghan "war' as The Best Years of Our Lives was to WWII. The emotional impact of this movie will be very sensitive on your own personal life experiences. No one can tell you what you will get out of seeing the movie beforehand. It deals with sibling rivalry, parents favoring one child over another, emotional instability created by the brutality of war. The list goes on and on and on.
Production, direction, acting (especially by children) is superb. The film was so engrossing that i didn't even hear the background music.
Don't expect to leave the theater with a smile on your face.
PS. I saw this movie about a week after I sat through the Coen Brothers monstrosity, "A Serious Man". Seeing Brothers just verifies (to me) that some people who liked that Coen thing also believed that Tiger was a real family man, Enron was doing accurate accounting and Maydoff was an excellent investment advisor.
