Movie Review: LEE DANIELS' THE BUTLER (2013) C

Very disappointing movie.  Script was terrible. Selection of actors for the presidents was worse. Tells the story of a black man's life over the years in a non dramatic or exciting fashion.  Essentially it was a very poor documentary of the black Freedom Rights struggle and never made it to the drama level.

Essentially Lee Daniels is brought up to be a subservient (Uncle Tom ) like character and only in the last years of his life does he begin to understand the black struggle of the 50's and 60's.  Never got to know any one's real passion or feelings.

From RottenTomatoes:  LEE DANIELS' THE BUTLER tells the story of a White House butler who served eight American presidents over three decades. The film traces the dramatic changes that swept American society during this time, from the civil rights movement to Vietnam and beyond, and how those changes affected this man's life and family.

PS. My wife Sandy liked it.
