AMERICAN HUSTLE (2013) D

American Hustle
I was hustled into spending 8 bucks and two and one half hours of my time watching this pathetic movie.

1. The people were not real . . . you felt nothing for them.  Just compare this to the well crafted SOPRANOS.
2. The hustler, his women, the FBI and the mafia guys where made out to be emotionally unbalanced, inarticulate and had IQ's below 100.
3. The hustle, where some politicians are trapped in taking hand offs was not fully understandable.

A review from Rotten Tomatoes:
American Hustle has earned a ton of praise and awards and looks like a sure bet to become a multiple Academy Award nominee. Despite that praise and the fact that I have been a major fan of director David O. Russell, in particular Silver Linings Playbook and Three KingsAmerican Hustle left me cold. While sitting back and enjoying these very skilled actors — Christian Bale, Amy Adams, Bradley Cooper, Jeremy Renner and Jennifer Lawrence — playing colorful schemers with a desire to grab the brass ring and running around like lunatics, the story itself wasn’t all that engaging.

A fictionalized account of the Abscam scandal of the late 1970s that sucked in a handful of politicians, including the mayor of Camden, a U.S senator and some congressmen, the real star of the show is the period music and clothing and the most bizarre
comb over hairstyle in movie history. When you have Christian Bale in the lead role and you walk out of the theater obsessed with his hairstyle, that’s not good.
