British TV Series (Season 1): LINE OF DUTY (2012) B+

(Available from Netflix, must use subtitles)
This series is about police operations and police politics in England. It starts with a Detective Sargent (DS) Arnott being transferred to a police anticorruption unit after he refuses to be part of a cover-up involving an accidental shooting .  . . in which he was part of the shooting.

Police politics are such that he is assigned to lead an investigation into the alleged corruption of a popular and successful "super-cop", winner of officer of the year award, Detective Chief Inspector Tony Gates. While Gates cleverly manipulates his unit's operation, DS Arnott questions whether Gates is being made a scapegoat for a culture of institutionalised spin, or is guilty of darker corruption.
Personality development, plot and acting are very good.
