Produced in EnglandIf you like Broadway shows that are advertised as, "Wonderful romantic comedy, straight from the West End of London", this movie is for you. With a little of the sex removed, this would be perfect for you and your pre-teen daughter or granddaughter to see on a Saturday afternoon. The movie looks like it was lifted right from the stage.
The plot: Attractive poor girl from the wrong side of the tracks trying to make it big in show biz by sleeping with the producers son. She also has two other boyfriends. One a handsome piano player, who is her true love, and the other a night club owner who is keeping her in his magnificent flat.
Of course she ultimately ends up with her true love with the help of Miss Pettigrew. At the end of the movie, Miss Pettigrew, another down-and-outer, finds the man (rich), that can replace the man she lost in WW I. They all live happily ever after. A better name for this movie would have been PREDICTABLE.
With a name like Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day, I should have know better . . . but I got faked out because it got a B from Yahoo Movies.
PS. The acting was interesting. When we are first introduced to the poor girl, she acted as if she was bi-polar.
